The Truggy. The DTA racecar is a unique and awesome looking vehicle that
turns heads and attracts a lot of attention. Our distinctive but functional truck design
and intimidating "dirty black" color scheme reflect our independent and renegade status as
the low budget racing team on the circuit. Yet, we have produced better competitive results
than many race teams with established sponsorship and budgets.
Known as a Truggy in the racing community, our Class 1 racecar boasts an ear deafening 650 horsepower Chevy small block 383, 24 inches of wheel travel in front, and 36 inches of wheel travel in the rear. The Truggy was built by Baja Motorsports in 2003 and uses King Racing Shocks, Transwerx Turbo 400 Transmission, Tubewerks 10.5" Rear End, HOWE Steering Rack, Hella HID Lights, and 37" BF Goodrich Project Tires. Whether it is on the track or standing still on display, our Truggy draws a crowd and admiration wherever it goes.
The Trophy Bug. The Trophy Bug is the main prerunner for DTA racing. It is a
street legal 1963 Baja Bug on steroids. Boasting 21" of travel in the front and 19" of travel
in the rear, it is used to "prerun" the races in order to learn the logistics of the course. The
Trophy Bug was built by Streamline Fabrication and is equipped with a 410 horsepower Corvette LS
Engine, King Racing Shocks, Mendeola Transaxle, HOWE Steering Rack, and BF Goodrich Project Tires.
